It's funny - the summer school people saying that the modernism essays are unintelligible.
I just read Marinetti's 'The Foundation and Manifesto of Futurism' and whilst I disagree with parts of it (facist warmongers do make me uncomfortable), it makes me want to cry. To burn an art gallery, to sing, to celebrate.
It is the first meaningful essay in the book.
