Keith Tyson - 12 Harmonics
So just listened to Keith Tyson talk about his 12 Harmonics piece. Remarkable piece of art, and a really nice bloke.
What's to tell? Themes of calculus (the infinite points to make up a perceived reality), chemistry, numerology (obviously), religion, seasons. And his birthday. And a tremendous variety of styles, across the panels and within. I like that idea a lot.
The nature of a work pleasing those who commission it (even though apparently DB didn't explicitly commission the piece), and the nature of narcissism in art, and in the artist.
Pity I wasn't drinking, there were rivers of wine.
